Fashion Trend In Nigeria: Since The 1960s

Since the 1960s, it would be observed that fashion trends had improved and changed dramatically from the big baggy old school wears to colorful and vibrant mind-boggling dresses

Everyone Is seen wearing the latest in town paired with beautiful bags, shoes, and jewelry to look all yummy. Come on, who doesn't want to look good? I sure do, people are seen creating their own style out of the trending ones

Different kinds of clothing is designed and sewed from our local fabrics especially Ankara, a type of fabric made through an Indonesian wax-resisting dyeing technique called BATIC which everyone wants to have a taste of.
Some styles since the 1960s like the culottes trousers, a jumpsuit that is long forgotten are back in Vogue.

Teenagers and women are seen rocking their baggy trousers paired with a Lovely nice top and shoes with a fro on their head.
People's choice of style is influenced by technology, celebrities, social factors to mention a few. People are seen trying to get the latest style after they might have watched a television program, a music video, or an advertisement on the internet.

Our designers have connected the external and internal factors to create eye-catching and mind-boggling dresses for all with the use of our local fabrics.

These local fabrics like the Ankara are used in making bags, shoes, swimsuits, ties just to mention a few, whoever thought Ankara had many uses? definitely not me.

The recent trend in Nigeria ranges from the peplum tops which can be worn on any kind of skirts, trousers, Ankara gowns, dramatic ball sleeves, front open slit style, the off shoulders which have been trending since 2015, fringe style, culottes trousers, cufflinks, ties, blazers and so on which can be worn to formal and informal outings.

Fashion trend in Nigeria has really gone a long way and are still going with all our beautiful fabrics and intelligence and like Jill Chivers said, 'fashion distracts, style connects' which can be seen from the 60s to this moment.

The style also speaks about your personality, so build your style and rock the trends in Nigeria with confidence!!
